Hello everybody. I would like to pass on some information about some fundraising events that are near and dear to the hearts of some board members I know. We are working with www.FirstCandle.org to help bring education and support to parents who have lost their children to SIDS or other unexpected deaths. "Dealing with the sudden, unexpected death of a baby to any cause is devastating – but in the case of a death for which no specific cause can be found, the lack of answers about why your baby has died can be overwhelming. We hope you will find some of the answers you are looking for here – and we can assure you that we will continue our research, advocacy and educational efforts to ensure that every baby is provided the best possible chance to survive and thrive. . . in the belief that every baby should live." ~taken from the First Candle site.

We believe that EVERY memory is important, every moment is special and everyone deserves to have something to cherish and remember their sweet baby by. So, "Scrap to Remember!".

Contest Details: To participate a $10 donation is requested. You will find the "Donate" button at the top of our Itty Bitty Blog: http://ittybittyscrapshack.blogspot.com/ The contest will then be two 8 1/2x11 layouts with babies/families as the theme with no pictures/journaling. You will mail the layouts to me where they will be "judged" and I will assemble them into albums and give them to a family (hopefully more than one depending on contest participation) that is grieving the loss of their child. I will pick a winner from the entries and award them a $50 gift certificate to the store.

Remember, the more entries that we receive, the higher the donation amount and the more pages for the albums we will have to give! Please tell your friends, family members, co-workers, etc. We can make a difference, even if it helps one heart heal from the hurt and pain they are experiencing!
Rules: This contest is both a donation opportunity to First Candle as well as to a family that will be selected that has recently lost their infant to SIDS or another unexpected death. The rules are as follows:
*Contest begins 3/20/2008. Everyone, stateside and international is welcome to participate.

*A $10 donation is requested for participation in this contest.
*You have until April 1st to sign up for this contest/donation.
*Layouts must be 8 1/2 x 11 and need to represent the baby/family theme.
*April 20th all layouts need to be shipped to the Itty Bitty Scrap Shack for assembling, judging and preparation.
*The Winner will be announced by May 1st and the results of the delivery of albums will be shared with the board at that time.
*You can send in more than 2 layouts if you choose to. (Sending in more will not increase your chances of winning.)
*If you choose not to participate in the layout contest but wish to donate you may do that as well.
